Pory Roku / Season

W Zjednoczony Królestwie oraz w Ameryce obnowiązują czter pory roku, Każdy sezon liczy sobie po 3 miesiące.

Spring / Wiosna
March / Marzec April / Kwiecień May / Maj

Summer
June / Czerwiec July / Lipiec August / Sierpień

Autumn / Jesień
September / Wrzesień October / Październik November / Listopad

Winter / Zima
December / Grudzień January / Styczeń February / Luty



Każdy Sezon (Pora roku) ma charakterystyczną wyrózniającą się pogodę oraz kulturę bycia.

Spring / Wiosna

In spring the days grow longer, the weather is warmer but it often rains and can get very windy. We celebrate Easter in the spring.

 

Summer / Lato

In summer the days are long and the weather's usually warm and sometimes even hot. We usually go on holiday in the summer.

 

Autumn / Jesień

In autumn the days get shorter, it gets colder and the leaves fall from the trees. We celebrate Halloween in autumn.

 

Winter / Zima

In winter the days are short and it is generally cold and often wet, sometimes it snows. We celebrate Christmas in the winter.

Prepositions of time

We use in for seasons.

For example / na Przykład ::

In Lithuania it is cold in (the) winter.

Most of the seasons have their own adjective.

There is no real adjective, but you could say "spring like".

For example / na przykład ::

The weather is very spring like.


Summer / Lato

The adjective is summery.

For example / na Przykład ::

I like summery weather.


Autumn

The adjective is autumnal.

For example / na Przykład ::

There is an autumnal feeling in the air.


Winter

The adjective is wintry.

For example / na Przykład ::

The forecast said there would be wintry showers tomorrow.

Christmas is in December during the winter. I like it when Christmas Day is on a Sunday.
